Get your mind right with essential oils

You’d be right in thinking that essential oils are more commonly associated with aromatherapy treatments. However, with their versatile nature, they have in recent years become an active ingredient in many skincare products too. Boasting a number of benefits, including healing skin conditions, alleviating aches and pains, boosting hair growth and so much more, it’s clear to see why natural essential oils are now widely used in a number of different health and beauty products.

Essential oils are found in a lot of medicine, soaps, perfume, and of course skincare products! They are made up simply from the oil of the plant it’s extracted from and so contains the ‘essence of’ the plant.

Our range of Derma Organic products contains a variety of these oils to help heal and rejuvenate skin. They are all homemade remedies and where possible can be tailored just for you and your skin’s needs.

Here are just a few of the top essential oil products we have within our range and how they can help renew and refresh your skincare regime, for a healthy, long-lasting glow.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is one of the most popular essential oils used and is believed to help treat symptoms such as acne, nail fungus, and athlete’s foot. Here at Derma Organics, we believe it to be true! Melaleuca Alternifolia (tea tree) leaf extract is a common ingredient used in our Acne Buster Herbal Facial Mask (£18.99). This incredible facial treatment contains vitamins A, B1, C and E that help refine your skin and address problems associated with acne. The tea tree oil within it is also renowned for its powerful and purifying properties that help soothe irritated skin in a safe and effective way. Try it now to see the results for yourself!

Cymbopogon Citratus

Despite it being a very complicated name, Cymbopogon Citratus is, in fact, lemongrass extract oil that originates from South Asia. This oil can be used as an antibacterial and antifungal agent. Surprisingly, lemongrass oil has been tested for its ability to also repel the pestilent stable fly and is good as an insect repellent. This oil is the main star ingredient in our Lemongrass Buttercream (£45) and can also be used as an antiseptic to encourage an even complexion and glowing skin.

Organic Rosmarinus Officinalis

Rosmarinus officinalis is an organic way to increase the shelf life of products. Makes you wonder why more companies don’t use it, doesn’t it? The rosemary extract is an antioxidant and is used in our Bumpz n’ Stumpz Topical Eraser. Used predominantly as a powerful anti-bacterial agent, it penetrates deep below the skin’s surface to destroy any blemishes caused by bacteria and boils. This incredible little gem is only £15! The results are insane and the price won’t break the bank!

Daucus Carota

Good luck pronouncing that one! A simpler name for it though is ‘wild carrot’. It’s not a vegetable though, as you may well have thought, but in fact, a white flower that grows in southwest Asia. Our Scalp Stimulating Growth Treatment or oily scalp hair loss treatment (£35), is packed full of this great organic hair oil and the powerful extracts can help transform your hair and scalp to its healthiest state. Daucus carota has many antioxidant properties, however – word of advice, large doses can cause skin sensitivity. But, as all our products are homemade, we can tailor them to your own needs. So if you need a slight change of ingredient to suit your skin, all you have to do is contact us and tell us you need the Daucus Carota taking out, for example, and we’ll do it! We already exclude oils such as coconut and sea nut oil because they can often be too harsh to use on your body, especially if you are a seborrheic dermatitis sufferer.

Organic Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil

Organic Simmondsia Chinensis is Jojoba Oil which is effective against propionibacterium (the bacteria that causes acne). The deep cleansing agent clears pores, pushes out the bacteria and removes dead skin cells. The oil can also moisturise hair without leaving any residue along with helping hair cells to reproduce themselves at a rapid pace. No wonder we use this ingredient in so many of our products! The Brightening Equalizer Facial Serum (£25.99) is a great example of natural skin brightening cream within our range that uses this ingredient to its full potential. The organic content helps soothe, brighten and nourish skin to give you confidence in your face again.
